NAAS CALLS FOR CONGRESS NAAS PRESIDENT The Congress which was anchored by the president of the faculty in person of Hon.Uthman Azeez Adewale (Mellow) held at the 500level hall based his discussion on the outcome of the meeting with the Vice chancellor of the University (Osun state university) in person of Prof. Labode popoola. The meeting which started with the VC late last year on the issue of LATE COURSE REGISTRATION FEE OF 10,000 which was not brought to conclusion and was later held early January where the VC said if 75% of students can pay his/her tuition fee that the portal will be opened and the late registration will be lifted. After the portal had been closed, unfortunately 58% of the students have made payment which is unsatisfying to the VC, placing a late reg fee of #10,000 to further pays. A peaceful protest was held on Thursday, 16th February 2017 by students from all campuses against the payment

Herdsmen/farmers clash: We have settled over 5000 cases in Osun – Mudashir Toogun The Chairman of Committee on Resolution of Crisis Between farmers and herdsmen in Osun, Hon. Mudashir Toogun, has said his committee had handled and settled over 5,000 cases involving farmers and Fulani cattle rearers across the state in the last three years. He disclosed this at a farmers meeting in Onilapa farm, Olaoluwa Local Government Area of the state, where some rice farmers met, and rice farms inspected. Toogun noted that the incessant clash between Fulani herdsmen and farmers became the most threatening crisis after Boko Haram insurgency in all the federating units. He commended the governor for setting up a committee to interface with these two groups and ensured sustainable peace, making farming more easier and profitable in the state. He explained that the pro-activeness of the governor in setting up the committee prior to the outbreak

NO TO 10,000 NAIRA LATE REG FEE: STUDENTS OF ALL THE CAMPUSES PROTESTS.... In the bid for fighting against the late registration fees the students of osun state university across all the six campuses embarked on protests to show their discontent about the current running of the institution. As gathered by coa press the students accused the management of closing the portal too early which according to them was 3 weeks after resumption.. The management later promised to open the portal after series of meeting was held with them but later changed their stand after the vice-chancellor himself Prof. Labode popoola had told student leaders that the portal will be opened for a week without the penalty of a late registration fees of 10000 Naira.. The VC on a later date passed information that their will be payments of late reg even after opening the portal... This lead to the meeting of the student leaders with the VC who we heard walked out on the students who got really furio
